Alpha Star Corp. (Long Beach, Calif.) has issued GENOA 4.3, the latest version of its software suite designed to augment commercial finite element analysis (FEA) packages by providing progressive failure analysis (PFA) capability. The latest release is said to contain significant improvements in its PFA module and its translation support for NASTRAN, ABAQUS and ANSYS software. It also features a new A- & B-Basis Allowable module that can be viewed through GENOA’s Web Demo. Other features and improvements include elliptic dome shapes, a strain-gauge feature extended to both element- and node-based FE models, a thermal databank, low- and high-fidelity filament winding optimization, a design envelope for damage plies (percentage vs. loading), and an archived databank of more than 100 materials.
