Firehole Technologies Inc. (Laramie, Wyo.) has announced the availability of Helius:MCT Version 2.0 for composites analysis, which gives users of multiphysics engineering simulation software from ANSYS Inc. (Canonsburg, Pa.) access to multiscale and progressive failure technologies for analyzing advanced composite materials. Written for complex load states at the constituent level, Helius:MCT is designed to enhance existing analysis software to better simulate large-scale structures with composite materials. Available seamlessly integrated with the ANSYS product, the software includes a plug-in application that allows for simple inclusion of composite materials into an FEA model, and an add-on module that enables the ANSYS structural mechanics solver to perform multiscale analysis. Included is Helius:MaterialManager, an application used to define composite materials and store them in a database.
