North Sea Resins (NSR, Bethlehem, Pa., U.S.A.) has developed a Rapid Repair Kit designed to enable field personnel to make time-sensitive pipe and tank repairs in harsh environments. The kit includes NSR's newly developed Cure-on-Command Resin, based on U.S. Department of Defense-sponsored research on underwater adhesives. The ready-to-use one-part system reportedly cures as quickly as 30 seconds even at temperatures ranging between 28°F and 104°F (-2.2°C and 40°C) without impacting strength characteristics or cure time. Effective bonding can be achieved in damp or even wet environments. Also included are NSR's "High Intensity Blue LED" Flashlight, applicator tabs and surface preparation pads.
