Noting that carbon fiber-filled parts, previously, have been difficult to color, Lehmann & Voss & Co. (Hamburg, Germany) has introduced to its LUVOCOM product offerings a line of colored carbon fiber-filled thermoplastic resins to complement its line of uncolored (black) carbon-reinforced high-performance molding compounds. The company says the colored materials are practical not only in decorative parts, but functional components as well. The colors make it possible, for example, to distinguish components that are similar, but made of different base polymers, or to distinguish between similar left and right parts in a production process.
