Toolmen Corp. (Waco, Texas, U.S.A.) announces its new Inverted CNC Milling/Drilling/Routing Machine, optimized for "upside down" operation. Intended to perform milling, drilling or routing operations on the undersides of parts, the machine is available with a wide variety of x, y and z travels and spindle sizes. An optional floor-mounted carriage allows virtually unlimited translation. The machine is reportedly accurate to within 0.0005 inches/ft of travel, while allowing traversing speeds of up to 2,000 inches per minute. A touch screen interface allows fast part setup, and machine design directs coolant and chips away from the machine structure. Options include 5-axis operation and additional heads for spindle, waterjet, laser or plasma configuration.
