Datron Dynamics Inc.'s (Milford, N.H., U.S.A.) new VelociRaptor CNC machine features a 60,000 RPM spindle, feed rates of up to 1,000 inches per minute and a proprietary Quick-Pallets modular workholder that reportedly reduces average setup time from 30 minutes to 30 seconds. The machine has a working envelope of 1,016 mm by 762 mm by 152 mm (40 inches by 30 inches by 6 inches) but takes up only 1.8m by 1.5m (70 inches by 60 inches) of floor space.
