Graco (Minneapolis, Minn., USA) has launched the Graco RS, its new chop gun for composites applications that features what is said to be an industry-first blade cartridge that can be removed and replaced in less than a minute on the production line. Because the blades are pre-loaded in a convenient plastic cartridge, no tools are required for blade changes, and operators never have to handle individual blades. The gun’s cutter attachment provides adjustable anvil tension to correct cut variations due to normal anvil and blade wear. The cutter attachment also lets the operator adjust and control fiberglass output speed, with no tools required. The new gun is 44 percent lighter than Graco’s previous product offering and features a quick-disconnect front end that allows for simplified cleaning and maintenance. The gun is available in external and internal mix models, and is compatible with GlasCraft proportioning equipment.
