Coosa Composites LLC (Pelham, Alabama), a manufacturer of lightweight composite panels, is displaying structural and nonstructural panels made of high-density polyurethane foam reinforced with fiberglass. The Bluewater Series, reinforced with woven roving and continuous strand fiberglass can be used in structural applications. The Nautical Series, reinforced with continuous strand fiberglass, comprises an even lighter weight option. Panels are sanded to enhance lamination, are dimensionally stable and have good resiliency and endurance. Features include no water absorption, a good strength-to-weight ratio and good weather resistance. These panels are 40-60% lighter than plywood and can be painted or laminated. Coosa panels are 4 or 5 ft wide with a maximum length of 12 ft in some configurations. Custom-cut parts and kits are available.
