Composites One (Arlington Heights, IL, US) will feature live closed molding and advanced process demonstrations, along with some high performance products at CAMX. Composites One and the Closed Mold Alliance will present the Lean Mean Process Machine demonstration live on the CAMX exhibit hall floor. It will feature a three-day event with more than 15 process demos in a massive enclosed staging area. They will build real-world parts, from UAVs and automotive parts, to marine dashboards and carbon fiber skateboards, to columns repaired with a carbon fiber wrap system and park benches produced from a mold made from silicone. Attendees will see a light RTM work cell in action producing pipe flanges with corrosion-resistant materials. They will also feature for the first time ever a live SMC/compression molding demonstration and some new tooling product technology from Guru by Soul Composites. The demos feature closed mold and advanced processes like light RTM, vacuum infusion, reusable silicone bag molding, SMC and prepreg solutions.
Products featured in the demonstration are provided by partners: 3A Composites, AOC Resins, Airtech International, Ashland, AxsonSika, ChemTrend, Chomarat, Guru by Soul Composites, Huntsman, Magnum Venus Plastech, Owens Corning, Polynt Composites, Polytek, Sworl, United Initiators, and Vectorply Corporation with tooling from Arrowhead Plastic Engineering Inc. and RTM Solutions and Machinery from Wabash MPI/Carver Inc.
