Laser Projection Technologies Inc. (LPT, Londonderry, N.H.) is partnering its CAMX exhibition with Delta Sigma Co. (Kennesaw, Ga.). Delta Sigma specializes in systems and tools to automate large, complex, precision assembly and manufacturing processes. Its 3-D optical projector systems, ProjectionWorks and AssemblyWorks, will be displayed. LPT will showcase its LPT15, which provides targetless alignment, a process that allows the laser projector to align to specific component features such as holes and corners. The LPT15 is capable of facilitating advanced in-process verification and virtual targeting. Two (or more) LPT15 projectors can also perform lasergrammetry for noncontact reverse engineering. Combining LPT’s laser projection capabilities with the projected work packages of Delta Sigma's ProjectionWorks and AssemblyWorks creates efficient paint masking.
Editor PickOOA composites in next-generation launch systems
As United Launch Alliance ULA replaces Atlas and Delta with next-generation launch rockets under the Vulcan name, supplier Ruag Space has been selected to provide lower cost/improved quality out-of-autoclave fabrication of Vulcan’s composite primary structures. Ruag will manufacture 5.4m payload fairings and 400-series interstage adapters for ULA’s Atlas V rocket.
