Soliant LLC (Lancaster, S.C.) has introduced Fluorex bright film that now can be combined with thermoplastic olefin (TPO), facilitating Class A finishes on car, truck, marine and electronic parts. These films provide a shiny chrome finish to plastic parts with different chrome-finish options, such as black chrome, matte chrome and brushed chrome. It can be tinted to match any color and can be used in extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding and compression molding processes. Other applications for the film include nameplates and badges, doorstep moldings, grilles, headliners and hood scoops, rocker panels, body side moldings, roof strips, pillars, sun roof moldings, door handles, mirror housings, interior touch points, bezels and instrument panel rings. In addition to good adhesion with TPO, the film is also formable with polycarbonate (PC), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and PC/ABS.
