Firehole Technologies Inc. (Laramie, Wyo.) has released Helius:MCT Version 3.0. Users now have access to multiscale and progressive failure technologies for analyzing advanced woven composite materials in addition to unidirectional composites. For Abaqus/Standard and ANSYS, Helius:MCT is available as a seamlessly integrated product. The Helius:MCT product includes a plug-in application that allows for simple inclusion of composite materials into a finite element analysis (FEA) model, as well as an add-on module that enables the FEA solver to perform multi-scale analysis. Also part of the package is Helius:MaterialManager, an application used to define composite materials and store them in a database.
