American GFM Corp. (Chesapeake, VA, US) told exhibit-goers at SAMPE Baltimore 2015 about a new machine it has developed. The Model USR-60 is equipped with two technologies: a six-axis ultrasonic cutting head and five-axis high-speed routing head on opposite ends of an overhead gantry. A moveable table sits beneath the gantry, and moves in and out of the work space for loading and unloading materials. The machine allows for faster processing, because the machine can quickly move between tasks, including core shaping and cutting. The USR-60 comes with 8 ultrasonic tools, 12 routing tools, vacuum zones, dust extraction system for the routing head, and advanced programming solutions, says the company.
