BYK-Chemie USA Inc. (Wallingford, Conn.) has developed P 4200, a new type of stripping agent, to address volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of polyolefin compounds, particularly in automotive interiors applications. The agent is said to be an easy-to-handle granular material, which is simply added to the mix in the compounding extruder. Its effectiveness reportedly surpasses that of adsorbents. Also on offer: P 4101 polymeric process additive is said to improve the processing characteristics and the physical properties of filled thermoplastic compounds. It is supplied as a powder. DISPERPLAST-1018 is a wetting and dispersing additive for color masterbatches. Based on new proprietary copolymer technology, the additive is designed to improve pigment dispersion.
