Worthington Industries Inc. says its Worthington Cylinders business segment has purchased Structural Composites Industries LLC, a manufacturer of DOT-approved lightweight, aluminum-lined, composite-wrapped high-pressure cylinders.
Worthington Industries Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) announced Sept. 4 that its Worthington Cylinders business segment has purchased Structural Composites Industries LLC (SCI, Pomona, Calif.). A manufacturer of lightweight, aluminum-lined, composite-wrapped high-pressure cylinders used in commercial, military, marine and aerospace applications, SCI’s products include storage tanks for alternative fuel vehicles (natural gas or hydrogen), self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) equipment, aviation oxygen and escape slides, military applications, home oxygen therapy, and advanced and cryogenic structures. SCI has approximately 150 employees and revenues were approximately $36 million (USD) in calendar year 2008.
