West System International (WSI, Romsey, UK), a division of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, announced that trademarked WEST SYSTEM epoxy has received certification from Lloyd’s Register. The certification is the second in two weeks for WSI and provides international recognition of the high quality and standard of the epoxy systems and their suitability for marine construction. Gaining Lloyd’s certification is important for marine products as it is widely used as a selection benchmark by designers and engineers across the industry.

Ian Oliver, managing director of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, says “A second approval from Lloyd’s Register is fantastic news for WSI and for WEST SYSTEM epoxies. We can ensure that our two component epoxy system maintains international recognition thanks to this latest certification by Lloyd’s Register.”

The Lloyd’s Register certification has been gained for WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin used with 205 Fast Hardener and 206 Slow Hardener. These formulations suit an extremely wide range of working conditions and applications and are widely used throughout the marine industry.

Last week, WSI announced that trademarked PRO-SET laminating epoxy systems received certification from Lloyd’s Register. The certification has been gained for PRO-SET LAM epoxies 125/224/226/229 and 237. The range has recently been reformulated and expanded to better meet the demands of modern composite manufacturing.

After nearly five decades of continuous innovation, WEST SYSTEM epoxy includes an epoxide resin, a full suite of amine-based hardeners and epoxy-related products, such as fillers and additives, as well as the application tools needed to use the products.

West System International, a division of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, has been working in close partnership with Gougeon Brothers, Inc. (Bay City, MI, US), the founders and formulators of WEST SYSTEM and PRO-SET epoxy, for more than 30 years. WEST SYSTEM and PRO-SET epoxies are manufactured under licence in the UK. WSI has an extensive international distribution network throughout Europe, Africa and the Far East.
