Web Industries Inc. (Marlborough, Massachusetts), an industry leader in formatting prepreg composites for aerostructure fabrication, reports that it has received a Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The Boeing Co. (Chicago, Illinois) annually evaluates its suppliers and recognizes those companies that have shown superior performance throughout a 12-month business cycle. During the latest period, Web Industries maintained a Silver composite supplier performance rating for each month evaluated. These ratings are based, in part, on consistent excellence in supplying Boeing with quality products consistently delivered at a competitive price. Web provides composite formatting services, in the form of composite slit tape, and material processability testing for Boeing.

“Web Industries recognizes that performance excellence is fundamental to the success of both Boeing and their suppliers,” says Mark Pihl, president and COO of Web Industries. “Receiving this award is a testament to our company’s commitment to offering the highest quality and most robust set of contract composite formatting services in the aerospace marketplace. As aerostructure manufacturers ramp up production to meet the growing demand for next-generation aircraft, Web Industries continues to be their trusted source for composite slit tape, ply kits, and material management services.”

The birthplace of aerospace-grade composite formatting services, Web Industries produces precision composite slit tape and ply kits and provides vendor-managed inventory services to the aerospace industry’s leading manufacturers and part fabricators. Home to the largest and most advanced composites formatting facilities in the world, the company is a qualified provider of slit tape for nearly all major fiber placement lines and is home to the Composites Automation Development center, a material evaluation and processability testing facility. Web is one of only 423 companies to receive Silver recognition from Boeing for this business period, out of a supplier base of over 13,000 companies. This is the first year that Web Industries has received this award.
