Vision Systems develops composite frames with CT1

Vision Systems (Lyon, France) worked with with CT1, part of Compose (Bellignat, France), to produce customized helicopter window frames. The frames were presented at JEC World 2016 (Mar 8-10; Paris, France).

Vision Systems had announced last June that it had been selected by Airbus Helicopters to manufacture jettisonable windows for the H160. The windows are made of PMMA and are tinted and bonded on thermo-compressed carbon frames developed in partnership with CT1. The project also includes emergency mechanical unlocking systems, door seals and bad weather windows.

Vision Systems opened last year a new 1000 m2 production plant dedicated to composites allowing the company to take a big step forward in the expansion of its product offer in order to better respond to the growing need of its customers in terms of composite products integration. Vision Systems’ processes including Resin Transfer Molding, thermo-compression, infusion, thermoforming and drape forming.

Several projects implying composite are under development in all of Vision Systems' market segments, most particularly motorized shades, electronically dimmable solutions, large bay windows with frames and opening mechanisms, helicopter doors and cyclic sticks.
