Vector Aerospace UK (Almondbank, Perth, U.K.), a provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, reported on May 8 that it recently opened a new composites repair facility at its Almondbank site in Perth. This is expected to further enhance the company's Composite Services Centre and forms an integral part of its strategic five-year plan to expand its growing civil sector proposition.

"Almondbank, along with our civil sector capabilities, is currently experiencing impressive growth," says Mick O'Connor, director of component services at Almondbank. "Our capability offering, in terms of components, composites, landing gear and propellers continues to expand apace. Meanwhile, our personnel numbers have also increased; we have recruited more than 30 new employees in the last 12 months. This all comes on the back of customer-driven demand; we have recently received initial orders from a number of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and global airlines. Consequently there is a clear sense that the services we offer here are not only in demand, but are set to further expand in the future."

"It is great to see Almondbank developing new capabilities," says Michael Tyrrell, managing director for Vector Aerospace UK. "The site's growing commercial offering, in conjunction with the comprehensive range of helicopter services in place at our Fleetland's facility in Gosport, underlines the unique breadth and depth of experience available to customers of Vector Aerospace UK."
