Vanguard Space Technologies, Inc. (Vanguard, San Diego, Calif.), a provider of high-performance aerospace structures, announced November 27 that it has completed expansion of its facilities and capabilities for fabricating, assembly, integration and test of its high-precision composite structures and reflectors for space satellite, aerospace and solar power applications.
This recent expansion adds 24,000 sq. ft. of environmentally controlled space, bringing Vanguard’s total facility size to over 100,000 sq. ft. to support current and future programs. In addition to expanding Vanguard’s assembly and testing areas, the company also added an in-house etch and prime laboratory for metallic hardware finishing, a precision thermal twist test chamber for composite tubes and struts, and added a large-capacity thermal vacuum chamber that will be fully operational in early 2014.

Adding the in-house testing capabilities allows us to have more control over our schedule to allow us to be even more responsive to our customer needs".
