U.K.'s Atlas Composites nominated for business excellence awards

Atlas Composites has been nominated in two categories for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Best Business Awards 2012.

Atlas Composites (Ilkeston, Derbyshire, U.K.), which this year celebrated 15 years of composites manufacturing, hopes to be celebrating again on the Sept. 28 after being nominated in two categories for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Best Business Awards 2012.

The awards, aimed at recognizing and rewarding the achievements of successful local firms and business leaders, are split into nine categories and will be presented at two gala black tie awards dinners.

Atlas Composites, which manufactures satellite and composite aerospace components, has been shortlisted for the Rolls-Royce-sponsored Excellence in Innovation Award as well as Business of the Year – the accolade for all round business excellence.

Atlas Composites managing director Shaun Moloney says, “We are absolutely delighted to receive two DNCC business award nominations, our continued development work with current customers such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce plc and GKN Aerospace has been crucial to supporting the sustainable growth in the business. This underpins the need to develop our workforce and their skills through apprenticeship training to promote our capability to compete in international markets.”
