TeXtreme carbon fiber fabrics, which is developed and supported by Oxeon AB (Borås, Sweden) has been certified and approved for use in commercial aircraft.

The company stated: "through partnering with our customer, we were able to help them achieve the required mechanical results by sharing our simulation capability as well as our knowledge of advanced carbon reinforcements. The simulation results helped to produce a part which uses TeXtreme to achieve the desired significant weight savings while also meeting their mechanical criteria."

This part made of TeXtreme is now in production and will be on the first aircraft which is scheduled to be delivered in 2017.
