Tecton to market home trim for Pulte Homes

Tecton Products, a manufacturer of pultruded fiberglass products, has licensed the rights to market and sell an integrated exterior home trim system from Pulte Homes.

Tecton Products (Fargo, N.D.), a manufacturer of pultruded fiberglass products for the building and construction trade, has licensed the rights to market and sell an integrated exterior home trim system from Pulte Homes (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.).

For the past three years, Tecton has manufactured the pultruded components in Pulte Homes' Pultrim system. The system is designed to replicate detailed wood and aluminum exterior trim and gutters. Pultrim uses a system approach that minimizes parts and allows for quick installation. Tecton's pultruded fiberglass was chosen for its strength and durability characteristics and its ability to be installed and perform in any weather condition. Pulte Homes has agreed to a licensing arrangement with Tecton to expand the market for this product beyond exclusive use in its own home construction programs. Bill Pulte, chairman of Pulte Homes, said, "Tecton Products has done a wonderful job helping us develop and manufacture Pultrim. I believe that Tecton is the company to offer our original vision to the market at large.”

"Bill Pulte and his team had a remarkable idea in the development of Pultrim,"said Tecton president, John Jambois. "This product dramatically improves the process of installation of cornice, facia, frieze and gutter components in the construction of a home. It installs fast and also has great curb appeal. The material properties of the fiberglass pultrusion and the Tecton patented Durion acrylic coating contribute to a low maintenance system that looks crisp and beautiful for years,"Jambois added. "In addition, if you ever want to make a change in the color of the trim, paint it!”
