SpaceX nails Falcon 9 launch and sea landing

If the rocket is qualified for reuse, the company plans to relaunch the same vehicle on an orbital mission in June.

On April 8, SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA, US) made history when it successfully landed its first-stage Falcon 9 rocket booster on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. This was during a mission to SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft to deliver 7,000 pounds of cargo, including the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM), to the International Space Station. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said the company is preparing the booster for a second flight and that the Falcon 9 could be re-launched around June.

This marked the first time for the company to achieve a sea landing. Check out the video below:
