SGS Tool Co. opens new end mill plant in Ohio

Solid carbide cutting tool specialist SGS Tool Co.'s new end mill facility in Cuyahoga Falls will produce more than 8,000 end mills a day.

SGS Tool Co. (Munroe Falls, OH, US), a manufacturer of solid carbide cutting tools, announced on May 21 the completion and opening of its new 76,000-ft2/6,689m2 end mill facility in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. The new plant was constructed next to the company’s existing manufacturing facilities and will allow for increased capacity to keep up with greater market demand.

The new facility includes a two-story office building as well as a completely climate controlled manufacturing facility where the company produces more than 8,000 end mills a day using the latest CNC machining technology. This climate control enables precision machining, thereby ensuring greater consistency in production which the company says translates into higher value for SGS end users around the world. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held the morning of May 19, 2015. Representatives from the architectural design and construction teams, municipal authorities, business group leaders and SGS Tool Co. leadership were in attendance.
