RTP establishes operation in Brazil

In early September, engineered thermoplastics compounder RTP Co. (Winona, Minn.) opened a sales office and warehouse in Alphaville, Barueri, Brazil, near São Paulo. One of several recent additions to the company’s growing global sales/support/distribution network, RTP Company do Brasil is managed by regional sales manager Joao Fernando Campos Pinheiro, and will serve clients in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. “The booming economy in Brazil is in need of more sophisticated plastic compounds to respond to increased demand for domestically produced products from the automotive, consumer goods and energy markets,” according to Jean Sirois, RTP’s director of sales in South America.

RTP’s first American operation outside the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA) region, the office and warehouse were established one year after the opening of a manufacturing site in Monterrey, Mexico, which serves Central and South America.
