Rock West Composites (RWC, San Diego, CA, US) reported on Feb. 12 that it has been certified as conforming to the standards for ISO 9001:2008 with AS9100C, by EAGLE Registrations Inc.

Certification to AS9100C requires developing, implementing and maintaining a more stringent quality management system than required for ISO 9001:2008 alone. Being certified to both ISO9001:2008 and AS9100C means that RWC has flexibility regarding the level of quality management system implemented for each project. Within the core requirements of each standard, RWC says it can work to meet quality requirements without burdening the cost structure of the program with specifications that may be unnecessary for the application. This allows the company to provide the most cost effective solution for the customer’s project.

The scope of registration for Rock West Composites includes design, manufacturing, and sales. This means that the quality management system applies to any stage of customer projects, from initial development through production. “Our customers can ‘hop on’ at any point along the design cycle and be confident that Rock West Composites will meet the requirements of their project,” says Dave Erickson, general manager of RWC. “By achieving this certification, we’ve demonstrated to our customers we are taking every step necessary to assure high quality along with efficiency in our approach to our products and processes.”
