Report: A400M facing another possible delay

The Bloomberg news service reports that first flight of EADS' A400M military transport plane might not happen in July as planned.

The Bloomberg news service reported on Jan. 5 that the German magazine Wirtschaftswoche will publish a story saying that the European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co. (EADS) may delay the maiden flight of its A400M military transport plane scheduled for July.

The report cites known difficulties concerning the plane’s engines, but adds that problems have also emerged with the fuselage and the wings, Wirtschaftswoche said in a prerelease of an article to be published in its next issue.

EADS won’t comment beyond its October statement that it is expecting a six-month delay in deliveries of the plane, a spokesman, who declined to be identified, told Bloomberg.
