CCP announces price increase; Cray Valley receives ISO 9001:2000 registration; DIAB names Martin Heiskell group VP; Keehwa Hitech, Gerber open laser cutting center in South Korea; Nilfisk names Joe Wintsch director of sales; Reichhold names Brøste UK distributor in U.K.; Fiber Glass Industries names Kathryn Brannon president.

Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP, Kansas City, Mo.) has announced an $0.08/lb price increase for all gel coats, unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, effective on all shipments made on or after Aug. 4, 2008. All materials packaged in steel containers will increase an additional $0.04/lb.

Chemical manufacturer Cray Valley (Exton, Pa.) has received ISO 9001:2000 registration for its Sartomer C5 resins plant for Wingtack in Beaumont, Texas from the British Standards Institute (Reston, Va.). The company’s other ISO 9001:2000-registered facilities include its domestic headquarters in Exton, Pa. and its manufacturing plant in Channelview, Texas.

Core materials specialist DIAB has named Martin Heiskell as group vice president - DeSoto Operations. Martin joins the company from the Dallas facility of Johns Manville Corp. He will be responsible for accelerating further improvements in order turn round, achieving sustained productivity increases, maintaining ultra-high quality standards and reducing waste. 

Keehwa Hitech Inc., Gerber Technology’s (Tolland, Conn.) distributor in South Korea, recently held the grand opening of its new Hitech Manufacturing Center, dedicated to the production of laser cutting systems, in Seoul, South Korea. James S. Arthurs, president of Gerber Scientific Asia-Pacific and chairman of Gerber Technology, was the chief guest and addressed the more than 100 people who attended the opening ceremonies. Raymond Cheng, Gerber Technology’s Area Director for Southeast Asia & Korea, also participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony with other local dignitaries.

Nilfisk CFM (Malvern, Pa.), a manufacturer of industrial vacuum systems, has hamed Joe Wintsch director of sales for North America. Wintsch will be responsible for driving sales efforts in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which includes overseeing the company’s 20-member direct sales force and range of distributors and dealers throughout North America.

Reichhold (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) , a producer of unsaturated polyester resins for the fabrication of composites products, and a supplier of coating resins, has appointed an Azelis company, Brøste UK, as its distribution partner to serve the U.K. market, with the exception of sales in Northern Ireland.

Dr. Kathryn Brannon has joined Fiber Glass Industries Inc. (FGI, Amsterdam, N.Y.) as president. She holds a Ph.D. in chemistry and an MBA and has worked in a variety of technical, marketing and management positions at Owens Corning, Engelhard Corp. (now BASF), Chemical Abstracts Service and Shepherd Color Co. Brannon’s focus at FGI will be new business development through new products and technology enhancements.
