The Kane County Chronicle (Kane County, Ill.) reports that HondaJet (Greensboro, N.C.), builder of a new corporate jet that uses composites in many components, has announced plans to open a sales and service center for its $4.4 million (USD) corporate jets at the Aurora Municipal Airport in Sugar Grove, Ill. The facility will be one of five HondaJet sales and service centers in the U.S. and will cover a 12-state region.” First deliveries are expected in 2010. Link to original story:

Composites One (Arlington Heights, Ill.) will present a working closed mold shop during IBEX 2008, featuring three work cells — light resin transfer molding (Light RTM), the vacuum infusion process (VIP), and closed cavity bag molding (CCBM) – outputting multiple production parts daily. All events are being held in the outdoor demo zone at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Oct. 6-8, 2008. In addition to the work cells, there will be a live demonstration each afternoon at 1:00 p.m. showing resin as it flows in real-time through laminates and core products in a specially-made, hollowed-out boat hull.

Eriez Magnetics (Erie, Pa.) has announced the appointment of Andy Lewis to the newly created position of vice president — International. Lewis joined Eriez in 1976 and has served as managing director of Eriez-Europe since 1995. Lewis will manage all of Eriez’ Affiliate Companies/Regional Headquarters except for the Eriez-CPT businesses in Canada and Brazil. Also, Paul Fears has been appointed to the position of managing director, Eriez-Europe, reporting to Lewis Lewis. Fears joined the company in 1989 as marketing executive.

Michelman (Cincinnati, Ohio) has announced a 15 to 25 percent price increase on coatings and additives across all product categories in the Americas region, effective July 14, 2008.
