MTorres (Torres de Elorz, Spain) announced on Sept. 7 that it has acquired Pacifica Engineering Inc. (Bothell, Wash., USA). Final closing of the transaction is pending regulatory approvals.

Pacifica provides tool design, engineering and design/build services to the aerospace and defense industries. It is AS9100 certified, ITAR registered and a Key Supplier to The Boeing Co. (Seattle, Wash., USA). Pacifica supports composite and mechanical tool design, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering and design, FEA/stress analysis, simulation and design for manufacture (DFM) through a staff of 55 people, mainly engineers and project managers.

MTorres manufactures composite lamination equipment, large routing and drilling systems with flexible tooling, other specialty equipment and automated assembly jigs that support a variety of manufacturing and assembly processes.
