Mercury Cable wins agreement with ACA Conductor Assemblies

ACA will represent Mercury Cable & Energy's High Voltage Composite Reinforced Conductors for electrical transmission lines.

Mercury Cable & Energy (Dana Point, Calif., USA), a developer of High Voltage Composite Reinforced Conductors (HVCRC) for electrical transmission lines, announced on Feb. 3 that it has signed an exclusive five-year agreement with ACA Conductor Accessories (ACA), a division of AFL Telecommunications LLC. Under the terms of the agreement, ACA is the exclusive supplier of hardware accessories for Mercury Cable’s HVCRC product line in the United States and Canada. In consideration for exclusive status, ACA agrees to make Mercury Cable its exclusive purchaser (excluding 3M) of hardware accessories for composite conductors.

“Mercury Cable’s HVCRC line complements our existing line of transmission products and reaffirms our commitment of exceptional quality and selection for our customers,” said Gary Harter, commercial and engineering manager for ACA. “We look forward to working with General Cable and Mercury Cable as their exclusive supplier of HVCRC accessories for the North American market.”

Mercury Cable approached ACA after extensive analysis of the High Temperature Accessory marketplace and in consultation with General Cable. Their outstanding reputation with U.S. utilities combined with their previous experience with composite conductors makes them an ideal partner for Mercury Cable and General Cable.
