Major distributors merge

Interplastic Corp. (St. Paul, Minn.

Interplastic Corp. (St. Paul, Minn.) announced that is has acquired the composite materials distribution business of Mahogany Co. of Mays Landing Inc. (Mays Landing, N.J.). Mahogany Co. encompasses two distribution centers in Mays Landing, N.J., and stocking locations in Everett, Pa. and Duncan, S.C. The purchase also includes exclusive distribution rights within the territory of Mahogany-produced composite kits. Mahogany will be combined with Interplastic’s subsidiary division North American Composites’ (NAC, Lino Lakes, Minn.) Northeast/Mid-Atlantic district and will be headquartered in Mays Landing, N.J.

“We are pleased to complete the sale of our distribution company to such a fine organization as NAC,” notes Mahogany’s chairman and CEO George M. Aaron.
