LMI Aerospace Inc. (St. Louis) has delivered its first aileron and flap assemblies to Honda Aircraft Co. for the HA-420 HondaJet, which is being manufactured in Greensboro, NC. The aileron and flap assemblies were the first aerostructures work packages LMI was awarded on the HondaJet program. LMI subsequently was awarded a contract to provide engine pylons for the HondaJet. The company previously provided engineering services on the program. According to Forbes, the HondaJet has been a $2 billion and 30 years in the making project.
