KMT, EINA form alliance for post-mold composite blade automation

KMT Robotic Solutions Inc. (Auburn Hills, Mich., USA) and EINA Estudios de Ingeniería Adaptada SL (Pamplona, Spain) on Feb. 8 announced an alliance that will offer comprehensive post-mold automation solutions for wind turbine blade manufacturers. These solutions will combine KMT’s robotic root cutting, drilling and edge trimming technologies with EINA’s robotic surface finishing and quality inspection technologies.

Each company has patented or patent-pending technologies that make using robots for wind turbine blade post-mold processing feasible for wind turbine blade manufacturers looking to expand capacity, handle product change over, overcome ergonomic concerns and produce the high-quality blades.

In addition, the alliance provides more worldwide customer support coverage of all these technologies with
KMT’s presence in North America, South America, Asia and northern Europe, and EINA’s coverage of southern Europe.
