North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT, Penthalaz-Cossonay, Switzerland) announces the recent appointment of James Austin as the new company CEO. Austin brings almost 30 years of experience in the composite industry to the Swiss company that offers weight saving prepreg and automation solutions. He replaces NTPT’s co-founder Francois Mordasini, who will remain with NTPT as Chairman of the Board and focused on NTPT’s business development.
The newly appointed CEO has, over the last 25 years, held a number of senior management positions, including COO of the Gurit Group, president of Gurit USA, head of Product Management & Marketing Director of SP Systems, and key account manager at Hexcel. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Sciences from the University of East Anglia.

NTPT’s prepreg material includes UD tapes from 30 to 300gsm, multi-axial preforms and machinable carbon fiber blocks. Its thin plies are now used in a wide range of applications such as motorsports, marine/yachting, sports and leisure, aerospace and luxury goods.
