Methods Machine Tools Inc. (Sudbury, Mass.) has introduced the Nakamura-Tome WY-250 multitasking turning/milling center. It features an opposed two-spindle, two-turret construction and an upper and lower Y-axis capability for milling or drilling simultaneously on both turrets. It also has a new Super Mill drivetrain that produces milling speeds up to 6,000 rpm. Other features include 24 rotating, milling tool stations; two 12-station turrets with half-index capability (48 total); maximum turning diameter of 8.5 inches/215 mm and a turning length of 23 inches/580 mm; spindle speeds up to 4,500 min-1 (left) and 5,000 min-1 (right); functionality to facilitate multitasking programming and setup; manual guide simulation and optimization software for post-processing/simulation processes.
