Hexion opens new facility to produce wind energy epoxy

The new facility in Esslingen, Germany, replaces a smaller, older plant in Stuttgart, Germany.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals (Esslingen, Germany) on April 9 opened its new resin production facility in Esslingen. The plant produces specialty epoxy resins and bonding pastes used in the manufacture of large composite wind turbine blades, as well as specialty epoxy resins for marine, automotive, mass transit and other composite applications. The new 10,000m²/107,600-ft² facility includes blending operations and associated warehousing, as well as an applications laboratory and offices.
