Gurit acquires High Modulus

The resulting company, SP/HighModulus, will focus on development of composite materials and structures for marine applications.

Gurit (Wattwil, Switzerland) has acquired its composite engineering and materials competitor High Modulus (Auckland, New Zealand). The move combines Gurit’s SP-branded marine engineering and materials business with High Modulus’ B3 SmartPac materials kitting solution to create SP/HighModulus, a marine composite engineering and materials firm. With subsidiaries and offices in Australia, the U.K., the U.S. and Singapore, High Modulus employs more than 70 people worldwide. All of High Modulus’ management team and marine experts will join Gurit through the acquisition.
