Goodrich to supply C/C brakes for Cessna

The carbon/carbon brakes will be installed on the Cessna Model 850 Citation Columbus large-cabin intercontinental business jet, expected to be delivered in 2014.

Goodrich Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.) announced on Aug. 18 that it is providing an advanced fully integrated landing gear system for the Cessna Model 850 Citation Columbus large-cabin intercontinental business jet. The weight-efficient system includes main and nose landing gear, wheels and carbon/carbon brakes, and electronic control and steering systems.

Goodrich's Landing Gear team will provide overall system integration, fully dressed main and nose landing gear assemblies, actuation, control and steering systems and final assembly from its plants in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and Krosno, Poland. Goodrich's Aircraft Wheels and Brakes team in Troy, Ohio, will supply the wheels, tires, carbon/carbon brakes, brake control and other related braking components. Hardware deliveries to support rig testing are expected by mid 2009.

Cessna currently has 71 Citation Columbus aircraft on order for customers worldwide. The aircraft is expected to achieve FAA certification by the end of 2013, with deliveries beginning in 2014.
