FORMAX (Narborough, U.K.), a manufacturer of multiaxial reinforcements for composites applications, has increased its production capacity with the addition of another Mayer multiaxial machine, bringing the total of new machines commissioned in 2007 to three.

The new machine has been customized for carbon production and is being installed in the company's specialist carbon unit.

"We see a continuing demand for our type of reinforcement products, and recognition in the marketplace that customers value the service and technical interaction that only a specialist can offer"said Oliver Wessely, the company's managing director. To deal with the capacity expansion, FORMAX purchased an adjoining 20,000-ft2 extension to its Leicester facility in June 2007.
