Finmeccanica, Russian Technologies reach composites agreement
The partnership will focus on development and manufacture of carbon fiber composites.
Finmeccanica (Rome, Italy) and Russian Technologies State Corp. (Moscow, Russia) have announced a partnership agreement for the establishment of a number of joint ventures in Russia to manufacture carbon fiber components. The agreement was signed by Finmeccanica chairman and CEO Pier Francesco Guarguaglini and by Russian Technologies director general Sergey Chemezov.
Finmeccanica, through its company Alenia Aeronautica, has a multi-year experience in composite materials, thanks also to the investments in these technologies for the civil aviation sector. Particularly, Alenia Aeronautica has a significant role in the Boeing Co.'s 787 Dreamliner program.
Russian Technologies State Corp. is a legal body established by the Russian Federation Government in the form of State Corporation business entity in accordance with Federal Law, dated Nov. 23, 2007. The mission of the Russian Technologies State Corp. is to assist Russian design and manufacturing organizations to develop, produce and export high-technology industrial products in domestic and foreign markets, and to attract investment to enterprises in various sectors of industry.
