Envision contracts GL for certification of wind turbines

Beijing-based Envision seeks Germanischer Lloyd certification for a 1.5-MW turbine for 50-Hz and 60-Hz markets.

Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Envision Energy Co. Ltd. Services (Beijing, China) announced on Dec. 22 that it has signed a contract for wind turbine certification with Germanischer Lloyd (GL, Hamburg, Germany). The contract includes A-Design Assessments of six turbine variants and comprises certification for an onshore wind turbine of 1.5 MW (EN 15-77 and EN 15-82) for 50-Hz and 60-Hz markets. The plausibility check of the 1.5-MW wind turbine was the first step of certification for Envision Energy.

The contract has commenced and will result in first statements of compliance for the A-Design Assessment in  2010. For export purposes, Envision Energy is interested in providing evidence that its technology applies to both 50-Hz and 60-Hz grids.
