Elbit to launch new UAV at Paris Airshow

Elbit's newest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), dubbed Hermes 90, will debut at the Paris Airshow.

Elbit Systems (Haifa, Israel) has announced that it will exhibit two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) at its stand during the 48th Paris Airshow — 2009 in Le Bourget, France, June 15-21.

Hermes 90 is a new member of the HERMES family of UAVs making its debut at the exhibition. This mobile, close-range class tactical UAV system features advanced, high-performance ISTAR capabilities. The cost-effective, compact and easily deployable system is well-suited for military, paramilitary and homeland security missions, as well as covert missions under clouds.

Hermes 450 UAV (pictured) also will be on display. A major player in Israel's ongoing security activities and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) primary UAV system, the versatile, long-endurance tactical UAV, equipped with Elbit Systems' CoMPASS EO/IR/LD gimbaled electro-optical payload, can adapt to a wide range of payloads, including SAR/GMTI radar and dual-payload configurations. Hermes 450 can carry various payloads weighing up to 150 kg/330. Hermes 450 will be on view in a 1:10 scale model in the Elbit Systems’ stand.
