CompositesWorld, publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, as well as the CompositesWorld Weekly newsletter, is working with sister publication Plastics Technology magazine to present a new conference, Thermoplastic Composites Conference for Automotive 2014, to be co-located with the Amerimold trade show, June 11-12, 2014, in Novi, Mich., USA.
The program will consist of presentations from materials and equipment suppliers, and features presentations on advanced composites technologies that offer carmakers more opportunities to lightweight vehicles while maintaining (if not improving) performance.
CompositesWorld is firming up the agenda for the conference and reports that one confirmed speaker so far includes
Hans Miltner, program manager - advanced materials at resin manufacturer Solvay (Brussels, Belgium). He will focus on development of low melt viscosity polymers for improved fiber impregnation, part performance and cycle time reduction. He will review results of demonstrator work on glass and carbon fiber, woven, unidirectional and multiaxial reinforcements and impact of resin features on processability and part quality.
Other companies represented in the speaker lineup include:
