Creative Composites (Lisburn, Northern Ireland, U.K.) has unveiled an expansion that adds more than 40 percent to its composites manufacturing facility to meet growing demand. The company manufactures composite components for a variety of markets, including industrial, transportation, automotive, vending and construction. The company offers compression molding, resin transfer molding (RTM) and hand lamination.

Jonathan Holmes, commercial director, comments, “The new extension is a fantastic addition to our facilities allowing us to continue to support existing customers and maintain growth tor the future. Our success is due to our unique approach to supplying composite components. We have an ethos of delivering innovative design, advanced manufacturing and unrivalled customer service, which supports the demanding requirements of world leading companies”.

The factory features state-of-the-art presses with active leveling capability and parts transfer via advanced robotics to a range of 5-axis CNC centers. Creative Composites also has developed an in-mold coating technique that allows operators to inject colored resin into the press without opening the cavity or removing the molded part. This technique produces a finished part without the need for top coat painting and can therefore improve production times.

The company has held ISO 9001 quality certification for more than 20 years and was the first composites manufacturer in the U.K. to qualify for ISO 14001 environmental certification. TS 16949 quality certification for the automotive industry will also be achieved in early 2012.
