Countdown begins to CompositesWorld Expo 2009

It's time to register for the CompositesWorld 2009 Conference & Expo, Sept. 28-30 in Schaumburg, Ill.

CompositesWorld Expo 2009 is fast-approaching. Now is the time to register, and there is still time for exhibitors to sign up for this event.

CompositesWorld Expo 2009 will be Sept. 28-30 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill. It features a two-track conference Sept. 28-29 that overlaps with the expo, Sept. 29-30.

The Introductory conference track will introduce those familiar with traditional materials-engineering industries, such as metal working, to the properties of fiber-reinforced composites. Other principles covered will include CAD/CAM design and manufacturing with composites and the fabrication processes that work best for various designs, including compression and infusion molding; resin transfer molding (RTM), vacuum-assisted RTM (VARTM), and light RTM (LRTM); prepreg with autoclave curing; and other consolidation processes.

The Advanced track will include an overview of FEA design and manufacturing software, such as CATIA and FIBERSIM, and how it can be integrated into product development and tooling systems for advanced composite design and processing, including complex ply books, automated fiber placement (AFP) and automated tape laying (ATL) systems.

Attendees can register for the expo for free online up to the start of the show. Registration is $30 if done onsite. If you’re not exhibiting and want to join the event, the exhibitor registration deadline is Sept. 7.
