CONNOVA (Villmergen, Switzerland) has signed a multi-million contract with Marenco Swisshelicopter (Mollis, Switzerland) to supply composite parts, sub-assemblies and tooling for its full carbon fiber composite-airframed helicopter, the SKYe SH09. Marenco Swisshelicopter aims to deliver its first helicopters in 2017.
With a take-off weight of 2,650 kg (5,842 lb), the SKYe SH09 offers a low noise signature, thanks to newly developed dynamic assemblies and a shrouded tail-rotor. The modularity of the craft's cabin makes the most of its flat floor and its unique high-ceiling concept, offering multiple seating (one pilot and up to seven passengers). The rear access to the cabin is facilitated by large clamshell doors, which address the passenger transport and emergency evacuation roles the helicopter will play.

The teams are still working on the design but the aircraft is expected to have a wingspan of about 3 feet and will be made of double ply, carbon fiber.
