CompositesWorld, the publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, is in the last stage of preparation for print publication of SOURCEBOOK 2013. The print version will mail at year’s end to 30,000 professionals worldwide who manufacture composite products and subcomponents in dozens of end-markets.
“We reached the end of our 2013 campaign but realized that there were still a number of companies who have been with us for years but haven’t updated their listings for the 2013 directory,” reports Mike Musselman, the SOURCEBOOK’s managing editor.
“We’ve attempted to contact suppliers in our database several times, but haven’t heard from a portion of them,” he explains. “We’re still suffering some of the effects of the Great Recession. Businesses continue to change hands, and there has been a significant turnover of employees and restructuring in the supply community. For these reasons, our e-mailed renewal notices can sometimes miss their marks.”
“Sometimes the notices are addressed to folks no longer employed at the company, or their e-mail address has changed. Sometimes our e-mail ends up in the spam folder as well,” Musselman adds, noting that many employees, particularly in Europe, take their vacations this time of year.
“For all these reasons, we’ve extended our deadline,“ says Jeff Sloan, the SOURCEBOOK’s editor-in-chief. “We don’t want anyone to be left out.” Notice of the deadline extension, and complete instructions on how to access the SOURCEBOOK online listing form, will be sent out later today via e-mail.
Suppliers who don’t receive the e-mail can check whether or not their SOURCEBOOK listing already has been updated, Sloan adds, by visiting the Web version of the SOURCEBOOK at www.compositesworld.com/suppliers/default.aspx.
Companies with a check mark after their names have been renewed for 2013. No check mark? “Contact us immediately to ensure that the listing is up-to-date and included in SOURCEBOOK 2013.” says Musselman, who can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. “The process is done online and takes only a few minutes.”
“It’s important to note,” he adds, “that in the interest of directory accuracy, we do not simply rerun listings year after year. If the supplier does not renew its listing, the listing does not appear in the print SOURCEBOOK.”
The extended deadline for renewal is Friday, Sept. 14.
