CompositesWorld’s Investment Forum 2011 taking shape

The fifth CompositesWorld Investment forum will be co-located with SAMPE Tech 2011, Oct. 17-18 at the Embassy Suites hotel in Ft. Worth, Texas.

CompositesWorld, publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, on Aug. 15 announced that the fourth CompositesWorld Investment Forum, "Investing in and Growing Advanced Materials Businesses – from Start-up through Maturity," will be co-located with SAMPE Tech 2011, Oct. 17-18, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The Co-chairs for this year’s conference are Michael S. Del Pero, vice president at FocalPoint Partners LLC, and Steve Speak, president of Steve Speak Coaching and Consulting.

More than 100 executives from leading composites industry suppliers, industry analysts, investment bankers and industry end users. After an overview of the growth metrics and market projections for the general composites industry, specific areas of the market poised for growth will be discussed. Participants will then explore the various stages of a company’s corporate lifecycle and learn growth/investment strategies for executives and managers to consider as tools in order to grow their business – whatever position that company may currently occupy in the lifecycle.

Kicking off the conference will be Sanjay Mazumdar, CEO of Lucintel, who will give an industry overview entitled, "Strategic Growth Opportunities in the Advanced Composites Industry." Co-chair Steve Speak, formerly president of Cytec Engineered Materials, will then address "The Effect of Technology and Composite Market Acceptance on the Advanced Materials Value Chain and Industry Structure."

Following this session will be two days of presentations addressing growth and investment strategies for the composites industry, including a presentation by co-chair Mike Del Pero on "Maximizing the Value of a Business in the Composites Industry through Non-Organic Growth Alternatives," which will address the risk and downside of not using external (non-organic) growth tools.
